How does it work?

You can enter electronic check payments in two different manners:

1.  You can have your customer fax you a voided copy of their check (or have them give you the information over the phone).  Then you can log into your secure control panel through your web browser, enter the information, and process the payment.  Both you and your customer will get an email confirmation of the transaction.

2.  You can set up your web site to have a form which links to our secure gateway.  Your customer will enter basic information on your form, and then the form will be linked to our secure form where the customer can enter their checking account information.  The secure form on our site will have your company name on it, so the connection is seamless.

In both cases, the electronic payment is processed and funds are deposited into your business checking account within about 4 to 5 business days.

How Much does it cost?

There is a basic monthly fee of $25.  This is split between a $10 fee for the secure gateway (which we provide directly) and a $15 fee which the electronic check processing firm, FiNet, charges.

Additionally, each transaction costs .50 (50 cents) and there is a 1% discount rate. (this compares to a standard e-commerce rate of 2-3% for credit card transactions)

Please note that these fees are negotiable.  The above fees are based on standard e-commerce sites which have a slightly higher risk than standard businesses.  Businesses that want to use electronic check payments primarily for recurring fees, like subscription fees or monthly payments, can often negotiate smaller discount rates.  This is particular true of customers with large monthly volumes.  Sometimes higher per transaction fees can be substituted in lieu of a discount rate.  It all depends, and we are here to work with you.

What types of businesses are acceptable?

We work with most business.  We do not handle adult web sites or businesses, nor do we handle travel businesses.  Most other business are acceptable.
